In a bid to keep public morale in Iran, state-run media have reported reports that efforts have been made to make the Coronavirus drug available locally in the country.

The purpose of running such reports is a demonstration of Iran's scientific capabilities and the fact that Iran does not have to rely on any other country to cope with

On March 23, Iranian media cited an official of the country's Food and Drug Administration, claiming that Iran would succeed in producing anti-Corona drugs in the next ten days.

Control the coronavirus

Ali Razazan previously told Iran's state-run news agency IRNA that the drug has previously used on patients in China and that it had helped to control the Coronavirus.

Following the statement, the IRNA issued a news headline saying, "Corona's new anti-virus drug will be manufactured in Iran."

Iran's Food and Drug Administration chairman, Mohammad Raza, said March 21 that advance equipment has been imported to manufacture the Chinese compound.

Made in Iran

Even after this statement, Iranian media had run the news that the drug "made in Iran" will be available in the next ten days.

On March 22, the Food and Drug Administration explained the report, saying that advance drug preparation equipment was manufactured in many countries, which Iran has imported.

Coronavirus prevent drug

On March 11, a host on the state-sponsored TV channel, Network One, reported in the news bulletin the 'good news' of the Coronavirus prevention drug.

Following the news a video made by a company that manufactures the drug.
In this video, Noor Mohammad, manager of the Abu Rehan Company, was shown talking about a drug called 'hydrochloroquine' that not only prevents 'corona' but also cures corona infection.

Manufacture the drug

The Abu Rehan Company is engaged in the manufacture of this drug.
Later another video was broadcast in which Noor Mohammad said he was only giving information about the drug, he denied that his company had manufactured the drug.

He said hydrochloroquine is not a new drug and that it was developed by other Iranian companies.
He blamed the TV anchor for spreading misunderstandings, who reported on the Iranian invention of the Coronavirus on TV.

He also said that the video made by his company was also mutilated, leading to misunderstandings.
Hydrochloroquine is a common drug used to prevent and treat malaria for years.
Whether or not this drug is helpful in the prevention of Corona is uncertain, but research is certainly underway.
