Coronavirus, 'I might die of hunger instead of virus

Corona virus: 'I might die of hunger instead of virus

Die of hunger instead the virus

I'll probably die of hunger
instead of the virus right now," says Panthera Sothe, a resident of Thailand's largest
slum population, who sells food and drinks. Located in the middle of the capital Bangkok,
locals consider this part ugliest city of beautiful city. This 1.5-square-kilometer area,
based on fragile wood and small houses made of old tin, has fragments of swampy land and

streams spread over it. The Soothi are single mother who are raising their children and
grandchildren without any help. She sells fried chicken and meatballs in front of a nearby
school, but because of this dangerous illness, her only source of income has suddenly
disappeared as the school has been closed. She was earning 1,000 baht (US $ 30) a day, but

suddenly her income dropped to zero. They have been infected with this virus.this is the story of many of the 20,000 residential of the Klong Toi slum population. Buying food items for your family for a sothi is more important than buying hand sanitizers or face masks. They can buy only one of them. She says, 'Fortunately no one has been infected in our community yet.So I will not get sick of it or die. ' But with that, she also says,

'Poverty is slowly killing us.My only wish is that the situation get better soon and I
hope the government will help us. ' They have neither school children nor any other
customer to buy their food. In such cases, they do not meet the daily expenses. She says,
'I really want to go out to sell food and try to make some money. But I don't have enough
money to buy my own food. Where would I get the money to buy chicken and meatballs that I

would sell them.' She currently eats her meals distributed by different temples and
different foundations. 'Whenever I hear that people are being provided free food in the
area, I get there and try to get as much food as possible so that the whole house can get
enough.I'm scared of the virus but with limited resources and a lack of money, I have this

option to survive. ' Like many others, Thongrowing Thongfuen is a 56-year-old woman who
works hard and is currently having trouble making two-time bread. She leaves the slum
population daily with her husband on the highway of the pass, waiting for someone to take
her for work. She knows the government's advice on not leaving the house, but he thinks
that making money is more important to staying alive. 'Poor people like us have very
little choice,' says Thongfuin.I know the government is asking everyone to stay home. But
if I don't go out to make money, neither of us will survive. ' They said, 'Nobody is ready

to hire us.When we are out we are at risk of getting infected with the virus and we may be
carrying it in our neighborhood. My children need food and the ones we have borrowed also
need to paying them. I have a lot of pressure.Sometimes I don't even see the benefit of
living Klong Tui is Thailand's largest slum population. Officially, there are at least 20k
people living there, but the idea is expressed that the actual number is much higher and

probably closer to 100k. Houses are built on top of one another, making it extremely
difficult to prevent the spread of diseases. Most people in the slum population are aware

of the corona virus pandemic, but due to limited resources, they can't do much except look
at each other. Most of the children in this community are elderly and sick, with little
movement. If this cased did here, consider the whole community would finished.Ludda
Mengipole is 26 years old and lives in a slum population. She makes face masks and gives
people free. She says that I am one of those lucky enough to have sustain my job and to
take care of my family. But I see a lot of my aunts, uncles and neighbors who are

struggling in this crisis. Anyone is not hire them at the job.this is just one month of
the outbreak in bangkok and people are already in trouble. I cannot imagine what wil
happen next month. ' She said 'The situation in my block is terrible. There is a certified

New coronavirus

in case of corona virus.I am afraid that many people in the community will be infected with
this virus and it will kill them. ' Thousands of Thai people all over the country are
preparing to fight the infectious disease; thousands of people from Klong Toi slum are
already in a very dilapidated state. In Thailand, the number of new corona infected

patients is increasing, and so is the number of deaths. But people living in this non-
income-based slum say that the only option is for them to go to work, even in cases where
the virus is infected. It looks like this community has already been forgotten.
